NDDC Director Tasks Wike On All-inclusive Govt

Director of Finance and Administration of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Henry Ogiri, has urged Rivers State Governor-elect, Nyesom Wike, to run an all-inclusive government.

He made the call in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, while briefing newsmen on Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

Ogiri, who stressed the need for Wike to carry everybody along in his administration, described his victory as the will of Rivers people.

He said: “I am sure that Rivers people know that the support they gave to Wike is something that came from their hearts, and they are expecting a lot from him because there is a lot of work to be done.”

He assured the people that the governor-elect had the capacity to move the state forward having served as a minister and local government chairman.

“I also urge him to extend his hand of fellowship to the losers of the election, so that if they are willing, they can also add their own ideas on how to move the state forward,” he said.

He urged candidates, who ran for different offices at the state level to demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship like President Goodluck Jonathan and President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the state and country were bigger than any individual, insisting that Rivers people would be the beneficiaries if politicians in the state saw politics as a game.

Ogiri said the spirit of statesmanship demonstrated by President Jonathan had proved those, who predicted doom for the country after the general elections.
