Winning the Terrorism War In Nigeria

Nigeria is not the only country that facing terrorists activities in the world. The wind of terrorism is blowing across the entire globe causing untold hardship to families.

In Nigeria, the coming of Boko Haram, on Islamic fundamentalists Sect with its base in Borno State, no doubt gave much deep concern to the citizens of this country.

Boko Haram has caused so many mayhem, not only in Borno State, but also some other states in the northern Nigeria.

For instance, the forceful abduction of Chibok girls, the bombing of a bus terminal in Abuja, frequent bombing of some major cities in the north amongst other social vices are attributed to the unholy activities of the members of the dreaded Boko Haram.

One of the reasons why the February 2015 general elections were shifted forward because of the seizure of some major towns and villages in the Borno State by the insurgents.

Shortly after the election shift, the military under the auspices of the Joint Multi-National Joint Task Force (JMNJTF) swung into action and dealt with the insurgents.

According to Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade, the spokesman for the Defence Headquarters, the military has reclaimed some of the territories under the insurgents. We applaud the operations of the military as they are taking over more towns and villages that were before the control of the Boko Haram.

Information reaching us had it that, more than 417 insurgents have lost their lives during the renewed attack launch by the military.

Let us use this medium to commend the efforts of the military as they wage continuous war against the Boko Haram.

It is our prayer that the federal government should sustain this renewed war against the insurgents so as to wipe out the ugly activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria. ###
