Fears grip the residents of Rivers State as dreaded cultists resume hostilities. Rivers indigenes now sleeping with their one eye open. In the past few weeks, several vibrant young men have lost their lives through cult activities.

Precisely on February 14, 2015, one Peter was gruesomely murdered by unknown killers at the D/line axis of Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Information reaching our crime desk had disclosed that there is cold war between members of Iceland cult group and that of the Greenlanders. The cause of this senseless war remains sketchy as at the time of filing in this report, but sources attributed the fight over supremacy.

On Monday, information had it that a henchman to High Chief Ateke Tom has been killed by unknown gummen in the Bonny Creek.

The Ateke’s henchman simply identified as Chekiri George Tolofari alias “Babangida” or “Executioner” was murdered by persons suspected to be members of opposing cult group.

The gruesome murder of “Babangida” has sent veritable fears into Ateke’s camp as tension mounts within and outside Port Harcourt metropolis. Babangida’s death paralysed business activities along the Cawthorne Channel Oil field.

The deceased, “Babangida” who hailed from Kalaibiama in Grand Bonny Local Government Area and Okrika was a very “formidable force” within the Ateke’s group. He met his killers when his engine developed fault on the river.

This weekly also gathered           that “Babangida” was one of the Ateke’s point men in Grand Bonny.

With the recent killing of Peter and “Babangida”, the state is now sitting on the keg of gun powder if necessary security measures are not put in place. ###
