The allegation over non-performance of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Nigeria since his defection to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, insistence against the mention of the ruling PDP in the state and resistance on the use of the state owned Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Stadium by other political parties may have been laid to rest in the affirmative now, as it was overwhelming that all on-going or completed projects in the state were products of the PDP especially the Forty Thousand capacity seaters stadium which is divinely decorated with the ruling PDP colours by the governor, an indication that he (Amaechi) still believes in the performing powers of the PDP, a PDP chieftain, Emmanuel Blesssing has said.
A careful study of the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium reveals that the seating colours and arrangement is done and decorated with the PDP colours of green, white and red.
Political pundits at the stadium during the presidential campaign rally for the incumbent president and candidate of the PDP, Goodluck Jonathan on January 28th observed that with the completion of the internal decoration of the stadium, it was evident that governor Amaechi is PDP at heart but APC in action as the look of the stadium bears the colours of the ruling party, PDP.
According to them, such internal decoration of the stadium which depicts PDP could be a reason for the resistance by the governor for the PDP using it for its presidential campaign rally, otherwise why should the president be denied access to a state owned property.
Another reason for such refusal blamed on the ongoing work at the stadium, according to pundits was not unconnected with the fear that the PDP crowd would reveal that APC in Rivers was only on billboards as alleged by several persons.
At the APC echelon in the state, it was gathered that most of those at the APC presidential campaign rally were hired non indigenes and traders with gratification of N1,000, N5,000, N2,000 and 10,000 respectively.
This The Newswriter political desk gathered that some who were owed ran out of patience and broke the iceberg on what took them to the Buhari campaign rally in Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, those who are yet to get their shares of the Rivers money disbursed for that event aside from regretting their action are appealing for their pay or otherwise they would reveal more of the pact before the event, a source disclosed.
It would be recalled that the PDP in Rivers have raised several alarms over the wastage of Rivers money meant for development on funding of APC. The APC era in the state under the watch and control of Governor Amaechi was also accused of non performance.
The uncompleted Primary School Buildings and Primary Health Centres across the state under the PDP government now remains abandoned projects under the APC government with governor Amaechi supervising.
With a clear view devoid of partisan or personal sentiments, it is overwhelming that Rivers State government under governor Amaechi of the APC did not only murder the state but equally stagnated the aspirations of the teeming majority of youths. ###
