We’ve Not Gotten The Best of NPFL- Mr. Everest Nwanchukwu

As the Nigeria Professional Football League ends at all the centres on Sunday 16th of November, 2013/2014 football season.

The Chairman of Port Harcourt Football Referees Society (PHRS), Everest Nwanchukwu has said that football lovers in the country have not gotten the best of Nigeria Professional Football League.

The humble soft spoken chairman made this assertion to The Newswriter Sports shortly after he watched Taraba beats Sharks of Port Harcourt at Sharks Stadium in company of his colleagues.

He revealed that all the three relegation bound teams won their matches at all the centres, positing that this suggest things are not right way, they are done like in those good days in Nigeria football.

Citing Sharks Taraba match to buttress his point where Sharks played as if the match is just a mere formality, as the players gave undue advantage to Taraba to secure the maximum three points from away to escape relegation. He said, the league needs to be improved by all standard.

“There is the tendencies of improvement in the league as the league progresses, this can be seen from the results it had produced in the players like Emem Eduok, Kingsley Bobby Sokari and others,” he said.

He even talked about the level of officiating in the league, particularly, making references to various matches he had watched at various matches across Nigeria.

For the match between south Africa and Nigeria, he said it is settled that Nigeria will beat South Africa at Uyo, stressing that the Bafana Bafana cannot beat the Eagles rather the Super Eagles would used the Bafana Bafana to complement her place in the qualification of AFCON 2015. ###
