Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries for the State Assembly and that of the National Assembly, a very strong socio-political group in the riverine community, the Kalabari Unity Project Initiative for Good Governance (KUPIGG) has endorsed the candidature of Tekena Wellington, for the Asalga Constituency I Seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Chairman of the association, Comrade Jerry Horsfall lauded the leadership qualities of Mr. Wellington, expressing optimism that if Mr. Wellington is given the mandate to serve the people of the Asalga Constituency I, he would initiate programmes and policies that will put smiles on the faces of the constituents.
Comrade Horsfall who described Mr. Wellington as a “Christian and a faithful member of PDP”, pointed out that Mr. Wellington is the solution to the Asalga Constituency I.
The group further threw her weight behind Hon Major Jack as its sole candidate for the Akulga Constituency I position in RSHA. Comrade Horsfall applauded Hon. Jack for using diverse strategies in repositioning the PDP as a state youth leader. The KUPIGG believes that for now it is only Hon. Jack that can attract the needed positive development into the Akulga Constituency I.
Comrade Horsfall maintained that with Hon. Jack in the State Assembly, the legislative organ of Government in Rivers State will be productive and lively.
The association also endorsed Mr. Wright Warmate for the Asalga/Akulga Federal Constituency, saying that Mr. Warmate with his wealth of experience in politics and public administration will turn around the fortune of the Asalga/Akulga Constituency.
Comrade Horsfall pleaded with delegates and other party officials to vote for Wellington, Jack and Warmate on the day of the primaries, noting that, casting their votes for the trio is one sure way to establish firmly the dividends of democracy in Asalga Constituency I, Akulga Constituency I and Asalga/Akulga Federal Constituency.###
