The Amanyanabo of Bakana Community, HRH O.O. Odum VIII has called for immediate arrest of one Captain I.I. Braide (rtd) for what he calls, “impersonation and attempt to cause crises” in his domain.
The Bakana monarch who made the call at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, described Captain I.I. Braide (rtd) as “a deceiver” that is out to cause confusion in the Bakana community.
HRH Odum VIII was reacting swiftly to a claim made by Captain I.I. Braide (rtd) that he has been installed as the Amanyanabo of Bakana.
His words, “I am the authentic Amanyanabo of Bakana. Captain I.I. Braide is a deceiver, nobody has ever installed him Amanyanabo in my domain”.
According to the royal father, Captain I.I. Braide was instrumental to most of the destruction that took place in Bakana.
“Captain I.I. Braide was one of the persons who used dangerous weapons to chase Odum supporters in Bakana and burnt down their houses”, HRH Odum VIII alleged.
The Amanyanabo recalled that he was the one who installed Captain I. I. Braide (rtd) as Kombo Agolia III, “but after sometime I removed him from my Chiefs’ Council because of his behaviour. As far as I am concerned, Captain I.I. Braide (rtd) is not a Chief in Bakana. He has been sacked very long time ago. I will plea with the public not to transact any business with him on behalf of the Bakana community”.
HRH O.O. Odum VIII recalled 1879 Peace Treaty saying that Igbanibo Will-Braide was not the founder of Bakana Community. He (Odum VIII) defeated Will Braide House in court in Suit No. PHC/193/84, calling on the security agents to intervene in order to avoid crises.
“Nobody should take Captain I.I. Braide serious. How can he organized a coronation thanksgiving service, without being coronated? People should disregard it, there was nothing like coronation thanksgiving service in Bakana on the November 1, 2014. Captain I.I. Braide (rtd) is a trouble maker, deceiver that always nursing the intention of destroying the Bakana community. Let me once again call on the security agents to arrest him”, HRH Odum VIII concluded. ###
