Six TIMARIV Officials In Police Net

Gov. Amaechi & Chris OrugeRivers State Road, Management and Traffic Authority, TIMARIV may face extinction in the state following its incessant unholy activities, especially the ongoing illegal arrest of officials loyal to the authority’s union by the Acting Comptroller General, Eke confidence.

The Newswriter checks gathered that about six officials of the authority including Mr. Igeniwari, the chairman of its Labour Union were whisked away at almost the close of work last Friday unknown to many and taken to Calabar, headquarters of the zone six operational base of the Nigeria Police Force.

Similarly, such incidence reoccurred, Monday but for the prompt notice and intervention of State Commissioner of Police CP, Dan Bature those arrested would have been taken to Calabar.

Information reaching our news desk says the acting comptroller general of TIMARIV, Mr. Eke Confidence has listed all officers loyal to the Labour Union for a possible arrest alleging that union must not exist in TIMARIV as it is inimical to his personal grasp of the authority.

Officials of the authority are now living and working in fear of possible extinction of the authority is around the corner, against the purposes of its establishment.

Insider sources also accused the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of been knowledgeable of the current crisis rocking his establishment, since his refusal to integrate the authority into the state Ministry of Transport is causing untold hardship to those opposed to Mr. Eke’s alleged tyrannical leadership.

It would be recalled that, this publication had reported the incidence of October 1st how the authority protested their integration to Government House and an acceptance to genuinely study their demands, were made by the Transport Commissioner, George Tolafari.

However, the state governor other than striving to meet or addressing the demands of the authority, promised funding the authority by signing another Five Hundred Million (N500,000,000.00) naira to service its salaries until such time the authority would be considered as stabilized.

The insider sources also viewed the governor’s stance as a ploy to sink the traffic authority while he leaves office, wondering when would the authority be satisfied as stabilized and by who.

The Newswriter’s efforts to have the acting comptroller general of TIMARIV, Mr. Eke to state his position or response as at the time of filing this report proved abortive as he was unwilling to pick his calls or return calls.   ###
