A frontline and distinct socio-political group in the Kalabari ethnic nationality known as the Kalabari Unity Project Initiative for Good Governance (KUPIGG) has applauded the leadership of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Hon. Felix Amaechi Obuah over the decision over the non- zoning of elective political offices in 2015.
Speaking at the press briefing in Port Harcourt on Monday, the chairman of the group, Comrade Jerry Horsfall said that the Rivers PDP’s decision to throw the party’s tickets open especially that of the governorship’s, would enable the best gubernatorial material to emerge as the next governor of Rivers State come 2015.
Comrade Horsfall also lauded the Rivers PDP’s leadership for throwing its weight behind the second term ambition of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the support giving to the leader of PDP in the state, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike.
Meanwhile, the group has inaugurated the women wing of KUPPIG with Blessing Horsfall as leader.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony the chairman of the association, Comrade Horsfall charged the women to move out and mobilize support for the PDP, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike in 2015. He, further charged them to be focused and ensure that PDP sweeps the general poll in 2015. He however disclosed that in no distant time wards co-ordinators will also be inaugurated.
Responding the women leader, Blessing Horsfall on behalf of her members thanked the group for the mandate given them to serve. She promised to discharge her duties well.
In another development officials of KUPIGG led by their chairman, Comrade Horsfall has paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Degema Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Hon. Tonye Tyger.
Speaking at the event, the association’s chairman, Comrade Horsfall commended the Delga PDP Chief for his sincerity in moving the party forward, especially his support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike.
Comrade Horsfall prayed the God Almighty to shower His Blessings on Chief Hon. Tyger so to continue to pilot the affairs of the party.
Responding the Delga PDP chieftain thanked the group for the visit, and encouraged them to stand firm, saying that there is no party that will defeat PDP in 2015.
He also commended the group for supporting President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike. Chief Hon. Tyger promised the group that his party will carry them along in the scheme of things. He added by saying that whenever the need arises he will come to the rescue of the group. ###
