Poor Performance: Okporo Clan Lampoons Gov. Amaechi

The Okporo clan in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has lampooned Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for what it calls “poor performance”.

The chairman of Traditional Ruler, Chiefs and Elders of Okporo Clan Council, HRH Eze Morgan Weneda Amadi made this known while speaking to newsmen, alleged that the Governor has not being abled to empower any Ikwerre son or daughter in his seven (7) year old administration. The royal father lamented the non-functionality of the judiciary and the health sectors in the state, and further condemned the ongoing construction of the monorail project which he described as white elephant project, “that has consumed billions of tax payers’ money. Eze Amadi blasted the governor for his meet the people tour, noting that when he has only seven (7) months to leave office.

The clan also threw its weight behind the re-election of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The chairman of Traditional Rulers, Chiefs and Elders of Okporo Clan Council, HRH Eze Morgan Weneda Amadi, Ogbuga 1 of Rumucheta Community said that the president as a democrat has initiated programmes and policies that have empowered the people of Nigeria. He noted that such a leader deserves a second term in office.

Eze Amadi further applauded the leadership qualities of the Minister of State for Education, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, adding that he has repositioned the state in a very amiable position.

In his speech, the lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Okey Amadi described the ongoing monorail project as a waste of public funds. He said that APC will not go far in Rivers State come 2015, saying that the people of Okporo Community cannot vote for APC in the 2015 general election.

In his response, Hon. Martin Amaehule representing Obio/Akpor constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly said that Governor Amaechi has failed. He urged the people to support Dr. Jonathan and Chief Wike in 2015. ###
