PH Allstars End of Month Match: Chairman Satisfied

The chairman of Port Harcourt Allstars International Football Club, Sir. John Peterside has expressed his satisfaction of the August end of month match.

Speaking to The Newswriter sports, he said it is the tradition of the club that every end of month, it is mandatory that the club must play itself in order to select capable players who could represent the club in external matches.

For this purpose, the club has divided itself into two sides, so as to compete favourably to know the players that are in form to represent the club in the case of the club engaging external matches, Niger stars and Delta stars were the two side created from the main Club. Against all odd, Niger stars and Delta stars squared themselves from the Port Harcourt Allstars international football club to mark the August end of month mandatory match.

Niger Stars paraded 9 players against Delta star 8 players, Niger Stars won the game by a goal, despite wasting many scoring chances.

This is the only win since the inception of the formation of the club in the 80s.

According to the chairman he has to allow the game go on because it is a laid down principle by FIFA that when once the two sides ready to play are up to 7 players, that game can go on, hence he has no choice but to allow the game commence.

Ambassador Peterside also gave reason why the turn up was poor, attributing to the outbreak of Ebola in Port Harcourt that within the week.

However, he expressed satisfaction on the outcome of the game, applauding the players that honoured the age long tradition of the club.

He also spoke of his relationship with members of the club, saying the members are happy with him because they have him hence many do lots of things to make his tenure rosy and friendly.

According to him, on his part, he is a servant leader and not an autocratic leader as he leader by the advice of members of the club. ###
