Rivers Journalists Honour NULGE Boss

Grassroots Journalists of Rivers State have honoured Comrade Barr. Franklin Ajinwo, the Head of Administration of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council. The award ceremony took place at the council headquarters over the weekend.

Speaking at the brief ceremony the president of the body, Comrade Jeff Celestine Oguike stated that the award became necessary because of the numerous contributions of the recipient.

Mr. Oguike said Barr. Ajinwo deserves the award because of his outstanding performance as an astute local government administrator.

He maintained that Barr. Ajinwo has contributed tremendously to the growth of local government administration in Nigeria.

The president of the Grassroots Journalists of Rivers State stressed that Barr. Comrade Ajinwo has helped in bringing Phalga to an enviable position in the country.

Mr. Oguike further stated that since Barr. Ajinwo became NULGE National President, Local Government system has a new face, noting that the award is not sudden but a systematic documentation and study of the man for his contributions to humanity.

He said that it is in record that the head of Administrator Phalga have also empowered some youths from with and outside his LGA and tasked him to continue the good work.

Responding Barr. Ajinwo said he appreciated the award and thanked the journalists for the honour done to him.

He said his position is an opportunity to help and serve humanity. “Even God who put you in the position will not be happy if you refused to help others” he said.

Barr. Ajinwo stated that those who are in position should try their best and help others by so doing the society will be better. ###
