Ikwerre Journalist Commiserate Late Ndaghane Akwu’s family

Journalists from Ikwerre extraction comprises Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Emohua and Ikwerre LGAs has commiserated with the family of Late Mr. Ndaghane Akwu, the former President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists over his demise at his residence in Port Harcourt.

Speaking on behalf of the delegates the conveyor, Mr. Eddy Williams described Ndaghane Akwu’s death as shocking, painful and great lost to the people of Ikwerre ethnic nationality, Rivers State council of NUJ and Nigeria union of journalists stressing that his death has created a vacuum which cannot be easily filled.

Mr. Williams who expressed shock over Akwu’s departure on planet earth recalled that Late Mr. Ndaghane Akwu was a former chairman of the Rivers State Council of NUJ, the former vice chairman zone F of the NUJ and former President Nigeria Union of Journalists stressing that going by his achievement and one who placed his Ikwerre brothers, Rivers people great in the national map and second in the south south zone to attained the position of the National President of the union, his death was a great lost to the state.

Mr. Williams who is also the publisher of the Envoy Newspaper base in Port Harcourt noted that “as human being created by God Almighty we should not question him over the demise of late Mr. Akwu rather we have come to commiserate with the family of the decease to bear the situation assuring that the Ikwerre journalists are very ready to assist in whatever the family needed, praying that God should give the family the strength to carry on the responsibility of the family”.

In his response Mr. D. S. Woke the elder brother of the late Ndaghane Akwu who responded on behalf of the family appreciated the condolence visit of the Ikwerre journalists in time of grief.

Mr. Woke who expressed sadness over the death of his late brother described him, as a man who live a selfless life while on earth stressing that God knows why it happened so sudden. ##
