Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed at Ozuboko-Ama in Port Harcourt as victims of the inferno count their loses.
The Newswriter gathered that about 15 buildings including stores were razed down by the inferno following an electric power outrage after several unsteady power supply which often goes off and on, as alleged by the victims.
Our correspondent who spoke with some of the victims reported that the fire incident occurred last Thursday, pointing out that the residents of the area wondered why there was no fire service to come to their rescue.
Some of the victims said that the inferno started when the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) suddenly restored power after several hours of interrupted power failure. It was learnt that no life was lost during the inferno, however residents appealed to the government to build a fire service station in the Ozuboko-Ama, and Abuloma communities.###
