Following the poor performance of Nigeria in the just concluded African junior swimming competition at the Rivers State newly established Adoki Amiesemeka Stadium, in Port Harcourt, the Hon. Commissioner for Sports, Barr. Fred Igwe Mbombo Igwe has disclosed that his administration as Sport Commissioner for Rivers State, will witness grassroots sports development.
The soft spoken able sports commissioner said he will as a matter of seriousness dwell more on grassroots sports to discover budding talents in all area of sports.
The commissioner made this statement while chatting with sports journalist immediately after the conclusion of the Africa junior swimming competition.
Nigeria performed poorly while South Africa claimed the first position trophy. All other Africa countries gave good account of themselves. ###
