Security At Stadia: Is LMC Ready?

The Nigerian premier league after much delay. What will make the league interesting for fans and football lovers to come to the stadium is security. This will also give provide enough security to home and away matches the desired confident for players to play with their mind without fear or favour. Hence the league management committee must as a matter of fact be prepared to avert danger from visiting team.

Secondly, it will also attract fans and football lovers to come to the stadium to watch matches at will.

Two matches had been played so far, since the league kick off, it might be too early to take security data from the league, even at that, watching sharks of Port Harcourt played Lobi stars at Sharks stadium in the week 2 encounter of the league, pose lots of questions.

In week 2, Sharks hosted Lobi stars and the policemen posted to provide security where only but (9) nine. On a rough day can the 9 policemen secure the crowd of spectators? In case of trouble breakout,  is the league management committee (LMC) really ready to see the league to a successful conclusion? There should be more to this that explained by mere mouth. The LMC before commencing the league said the LMC is contracting or involving the Nigeria Civil Defence together with the police to provide security at the stadia all over Nigeria.

So far, this promise had not been so visible as the matches played in week 1 and week 2 could not impress fans and football lovers of Nigeria. Scanty policemen where seen in the stadia which was not the promise of the league management  committee (LMC).

If the league management committee meant business the idea of involving the Nigerian Civil Defence to provide security along the Nigeria police force should be made real.  ##
