…Says We will Disgrace You In Andoni
As 2015 general election comes closer, political activities have commenced across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Thus politicians have started holding meetings and consultations. Some have indicated interest to contest elective positions, while other are eyeing political appointments.
In Rivers State, close to nine months tension mounts as uncertainties shrouded the political terrain of the state. Defections become the order of the day. The State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and some of his loyalists including the Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Renner Ikuru have dumped the ruling party (PDP) that has brought them into power and now identify with the opposition All Progressives Congress.
Information reaching our political desk had revealed that the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikuru, last week held a crucial meeting with stakeholders of APC in Andoni. Top on the agenda of the meeting was on how to defeat and disgrace Prince Uche Secondus, the National Deputy Chairman of the ruling PDP during the forthcoming council polls in Andoni.
While addressing the stakeholders, the Deputy Governor has called on the people of Andoni to stand and fight Prince Secondus to stand still. According to sources, the Deputy Governor has threatened to vehemently challenge Prince Secondus in Andoni come 2015. No doubt Secondus is a political godfather of the Deputy Governor.
Engr. Ikuru advised the Andoni not to be afraid of Prince Secondus, promising that his excesses would be curtailed in 2015 general election.
Shortly after the meeting a prominent politician who spoke to our political correspondent said that the Andonis would disgrace Prince Secondus in the next year general election.
He maintained that the Deputy National chairman of the ruling PDP has lost the grip of political power in Andoni, saying that the APC would take over the entire LGA.
“Prince Secondus should know that he lacks the political cloud to win any election in Andoni LGA. Afterall the Deputy Governor and other strong politicians that are giving him the support, now that they are all defected to APC, I do not think that Prince Secondus will win even a councillorship seat in his ward,” the politician concluded. ###
