Tears flow at Ido community in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers as a foremost educationist in the area; Elder Edwin Harry was gruesome murdered.
Elder Harry was a retired secondary school principal. He has taught in several schools across the length and breadth of the state, including the prestigious Kalabari National College, Buguma.
Information reaching our crime desk revealed that the ex-Principal was killed along the popular Degema-Buguma road while returning from a business trip.
Sources informed this weekly that the son of the deceased simply identified as Orinaemi Edwin Harry and three others allegedly connived and waylaid the ex-principal. Thus in an attempt to abduct him, the killers hacked the retired educationist to death.
The son and the other killers as we were reliable gathered disappeared when the former principal died. Meanwhile the wife of the deceased, the son and two of the suspected killers have been nabbed by the police.
As at the time of filing in this report, the police have commenced investigations, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited in a mortuary. ###
