APC Chieftain Debunks Accepting Gratification From Gov. Amaechi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Esuku M. Esuku has debunked the rumour making rounds that he has accepted some financial gratifications from Gov. Amaechi to step down for Davies Ibiamu Ikanya to take over the State leadership of APC.

Esuku who restated his commitment to the APC, said he has no regret if the former Commissioner, Chief Ikanya’s leadership in the state is endorsed by the National Executive of the party because he is the most happiest being for the coming of the Governor and his supporters to APC.

“My brother, I must tell you again, if there is any person that is happy over the coming of the Governor and his supporters to APC, I Esuku should be the number one. So how can somebody said, I collected money from the Governor to allow Davies Ibiamu lead the party at the state level? I am not a billionaire, but the little I manage my life with is enough for me, I don’t accept or collected any money from any one, including the governor,” Esuku said

Like his previous statements, Esuku who has again reiterated his commitment to APC leadership at the National level explained that the power to decide who is who in the state lies with the National Executive Committee even as he is not bothered about positions in the party rather how to ensure the party excels in all areas.

He described the allegations as laughable, adding that those behind such allegations are deceiving themselves and lacking in the game of politics.

Esuku told The Newswriter that APC has the capacity to takeover the state by climbing all the 23 LGAs in the coming council polls maintaining that all the sitting chairmen are already in APC, and an indication that APC has already taken the State and Local Governments.

In his message to Rivers people on Christmas celebration, Esuku lauded the people for their support for APC in the state, appealing for calm in every situation, enjoining all to keep praying for the party and remain peaceful during the Christmas celebration.

He said, the end result will convince the people that APC has come to stay and provides good governance to the state. ###
