Oro-owo Community Needs Good Drainage System – CDC Chairman

The Community Development Committee Chairman of Oro-owo Community in Rumueme in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area in Rivers State, Comrade Gentle Chindah lamented over the poor drainage system of the community that is causing destruction of properties and health hazard to residents of the area.

The CDC chairman made this known in an interview with our correspondent at his residence last Friday. He pleaded that the Rivers State Ministry of Works should come to their aid by giving proper attention to the drainage behind the Rumueme College of Health Education and School of Nursing; by opening the drains to the canal in Abacha Road for free flow of water during rainfall.

He maintained that the sharp end of the flyover should be attended to because it is a death trap. As it has caused series of accidents, citing a case that involved the death of a personnel working with waste disposal truck.

He further said that the government has done well in the area of health by providing free medical services for the people.

Comrade Chindah applauded Governor Amaechi for the provision of free education in the public schools and also the ongoing empowerment support scheme (Sure-P) which has also put smiles on so many faces who are beneficiaries. ####
