Mr. Belema Ibanichuka, a Canadian citizen with roots in Okrika, Rivers State of Nigeria, has emerged as the winner of the highly esteemed 2024 Golden Prairie Cup, a sought-after prize among bodybuilding athletes.
The event, held this Autumn, took place on September 14th at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
In the Natural Men’s Classic Physique – Open Class B category, which included 5 contestants, Belema secured the 1st place. He also clinched the 1st place in the Overall Men’s Classic Physique category, featuring 10 contestants, and the 3rd place in the Men’s Physique – Open Class B category, with 9 contestants.
In a post on his Instagram, he expressed his joy: “I am honoured to be first in my weight class and the overall men’s physique… This has been a great journey starting prep from 15 weeks out as the hard work and dedication paid off. It is truly humbling stepping out on stage for the first time and I would like to thank my coaches”.
This year’s event featured both an OPEN regional qualifier and a NATURAL regional qualifier, organized by a team led by the International Fitness & Bodybuilding Federation, IFBB, professional athlete Melina Perron, Corey Swiergosz of ‘Influential Sports Inc.’, and Rey Damasco, the owner of ‘6 Weeks Out’.
Approved by the Canadian Physique Alliance, CPA, the event showcased the top natural athletes from Canada and served as a regional level 1 show, offering athletes the chance to qualify for the CPA Professional Qualifiers.
Over the years, the province of Saskatchewan in Canada has produced numerous IFBB professional athletes.***
