The Acting Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State, Hon. Aaron Chukwuemeka, DSSRS JP, who is the Special Guest of Honour for the commissioning of the Fifty (50) Rooms Two Storey Council Administrative Building, Marriage Registry/NYSC/ Other Agencies Building and Remodeled Council Secretariat, today Friday 22nd December, 2023, while delivering his speech, showered encomium on Hon. Akuro Tobin’s exemplar leadership and the level of development put in place by his administration since inception, describing the Council Boss as an epitome of competence, capacity and creativity.
The PDP State Acting Chairman stated that the Executive Chairman’s remarkable achievements showcases his unwavering commitment to the development and progress of Okrika LGA, and his visionary initiatives, effective governance and tireless efforts have left an indelible impact.
He further reiterated that the people of Okrika should not be perturbed nor be distracted with unnecessary innuendos flying around different quarters, that the FCT minister still remain our leader and the imbroglio between father and son is already put to rest by Mr President and that Rivers State is PDP and PDP is Rivers State..
Before proceeding to commission the projects, he expressed that no one should live in denial when the truth is conspicuously and glaringly obvious, that Hon. Akuro Tobin has surpassed the expectations of the people of Okrika LGA and should be supported by all to continue to deliver the democratic dividends to Okrikans.
The welcome speech by the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mr Emmanuel Worgu eulogized Hon. Akuro Tobin DSSRS JP, whose resilience and dedication to transform Okrika LGA is evident through several key projects and human capital development and empowerment, making him the admiration of his people.
He also reiterated that the achievements of Hon. Akuro Tobin’s administration has ethically and morally raised the bar of his integrity and his non-negotiable attitude of “putting the people first” is enough reason for his people to return him for second tenure.
Solidarity speeches from Rt. Hon. Allison Igbiks Anderson, Member representing Okrika/Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Dr. Sampson Parker, DSSRS, Ex-Commissioner of Health, Rivers State, Hon. DeinmaIyalla, Ex-Comissioner for Special Projects, Rivers State, Hon. Williams Fialaosika, PDP Vice Chairman, Rivers East Senatorial District and Comrade Clifford Paul, State President, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), all spoke of the Executive Chairman’s developmental strides, his People-Oriented Projects that have brought succour to the people and affirmed that he should be returned for a second tenure.
The Director of Works, Mrs. Love Nwokogba, in her speech, intimated the special guest of honour, dignitaries and the entire guests with the description of the projects, from the Fifty (50) Rooms Two Storey Council Administrative Building, the Marriage Registry/NYSC/Other Agencies Building and remodeled Council Secretariat.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Akuro Tobin DSSRS JP, in his remarks, thanked the Special Guest of Honour, The Revered Monarch, His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Michael Tom, JP, Sekuro of Niger Delta and Amanyanabo of Ancient Okochiri Kingdom, respected chiefs, esteemed dignitaries and the good people of Okrika for the unwavering support he has enjoyed from them since inception of his administration, and assured them that Okrika LGA will continue to flourish under his leadership as he has so far executed key projects across the twelve wards of the LGA.
The council Boss also assured them he will continue to serve them with humility and moderation, openness and inclusiveness simplicity and forthrightness to the glory of God. highlights of the today’s event includes presentation of kola to the special guest of honour, Hon. Aaron Chuckwuemeka, DSSRS, Jp, by the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Okrika Chapter, unveiling of the cynosure that represent the cultural occupation of the Okrika People by His ROyal Majesty, King Micheal Ateke Tom Jp, and brief cultural display by famous Nwatam cultural group of Okochiri, amongst others.
