The graduation ceremony of the 15th Batch of the Tailor’s Life Coach Initiative (TTLC) was held last Saturday, 5th August, 2023.
The event kicked-off in a grand style as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the institution, Boma Emmanuel Clifford George, and his members of staff were visible in the memorable colourful event, which took place in Port Harcourt at No. 12 Eastern By pass, the venue where the institution is located.
Dignitaries from different segments of the society graced the occasion. Among them were UN Peace AMB. Juliet Wokocha, and her entourage of Peace Ambassadors.
Also present was the President, Port Harcourt New Garden City Lion’s Club, Sado Theophilus, his Vice, Margaret Ukwu, and other members, among other distinguished personalities.
Among graduants who graduated as fashion designer was the Managing Editor of The Newswriter newspaper, UN Eminent Peace Ambassador, Beauty David Nteugot.
It was indeed a joyful moment for the graduands numbering eighteen, who successfully completed their three months of rigorous training in fashion and designing.
There were also students on probation who had successfully completed their one month/6 weeks orientation training, and Batch 17 new intakes who were inaugurated alongside the graduants.
In their speeches, the students testified and shared their individual experiences. Each of them thanked the CEO, Boma George, for his patience in “managing” them, his unique leadership qualities, training skills and doggedness.
According to them, these skills have “helped many past graduands, some of whom are now in different parts of the world, to upgrade their skills and talents in tailoring and fashion designing”.
The students exhibited their self-made Africa stylish clothes, expressing their joy and gratitude to the CEO for giving them the “basic skills of a professional fashion designer”.
Some of them described him as “a gift to humanity, a man of action, a perfect mentor, motivator, character moulder with great vision who impacts knowledge to people, setting a pace for younger generation”.
Others praised him for his good works in making them become professional fashion designers with 1st stage of three months free Basic training without payment, and an offer for the 2nd and 3rd stages, which are the intermediary and advanced stages, respectively, which is not free.
As part of efforts to encourage and improve human capacity in fashion designing, the Port Harcourt New Garden City Lion’s Club, a Non-Governmental Organization, in partnership, presented a scholarship award to some lucky students of TTLC.
They are Sylvia Dammy Lawson, Deborah Odinaka, Gift Okechukwu, and David Barasi, to mark the graduation ceremony.
The Tailor’s life coach initiative (TTLC) and her long time partnership company are both registered institutions with the corporate affairs commission for over 5-22 years,
The TTLC and Port Harcourt New Garden City Lion’s Club partnership has enhanced the training of both males and females interested in tailoring and fashion design, as well as willing tailors who wish to upgrade their sewing career.
The focus is in people with tailoring experience, young school leavers, university graduates, and undergraduates, civil servants, workers, businessmen and women, an as many as would wish to pick up fashion designing as a career in the tailoring/fashion designing profession.
A lot of the graduants who spoke to The Newswriter virtually lacked words to express their excitement over their achievements in three months at TTLC, while the new intakes were visibly filled with great expectations.
