RSU VC Hails SUG President Over Car Park Renovation

The President, Student Union Government of the Rivers State University, Comrade Apollos Ogan has received commendations over the reconstruction of a car park in the university.
The commendation was made by the Vice Chancellor of the institution,Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, who was the special guest of honour at the commissioning of the car park with a waiting room.
The vice chancellor was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Nnamdi Okoroma.
Okogbule said the SUG president exhibited proactiveness and commitment in setting up a legacy project that would stand the test of time.
The VC further stated that the car park had been in bad shape for over 30 years, noting that the SUG president had set a record that would not be forgotten.
Speaking at the commissioning of the project, which was named in honour of High Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs, his son, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, commended the SUG president for using the car park project to honour his late father whose record of philanthropy and support to the student community in Rivers State was legendary.
He was represented at the occasion as a special guest of honour by Mr. Gabriel Briggs.
Also speaking, the Dean of Student Affairs of the university, Prof. Isaac Opibi, also commended the SUG president for the project, noting that the importance of the back gate to the student community and the university as a whole cannot be over-emphasised.
Earlier, the President of the Student Union Government ,Mr. Apollos Ogan, thanked the school management for the support he got throughout his tenure while stating that the car park was the capital project of his administration.
Dignitaries that attended the occasion included the Special Adviser on Special Projects to the Rivers State Governor, George-Kelly Alabo; Associate Dean of Students Affairs, RSU, Dr. Uju Orji; Student/Staff Adviser, Faculty of Education, RSU, Dr Victoria Kalagbor, and other dignitaries.
