ASALGA: “Stay Away From Ido Community Affairs” Court Orders King Sagbe, Chiefs Damiete, Prabo

A High Court sitting in Degema had  ordered the Amanyanabo of Ido town in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area, HRH King (Deacon) K.S. Sagbe, Chiefs Damiete S.D. Egwere and S.D Prabo to stay clear from the community matters for now.
Ruling on a motion in a Suit No. DHC/16/2016 brought before the court by HRH King Sagbe instituted against one Chief Damiete S.D. Egwere and Chief S.D Prabo, the Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice S. O. Benson declared that henceforth the Ido town/community council of Chiefs excluding King Sagbe, Chief Damiete Egwere and Chief Prabo shall continue to manage Ido community land etc pending the hearing and determination of the suit.
By this ruling the trio had been restrained from interfering in the affairs of the Ido community, hence companies, corporate bodies, government parastatals and other relevant authorities or agencies would not have any dealings with them.
Before delivering the judgment, the Amanyanabo of Ido town, King Sagbe had told the court through his counsel, Chief O.T. K.D Amachree that the Ido town has the exclusive power, right and authority to select a new Ewelle (King/Amanyanabo) of the town, each time a vacancy occurs and that the Egwere/Prabo families and indeed, any other family do not constitute the royal family in Ido town and do not reserve the power, right and authority to produce a new Ewelle (King/Amanyanabo) of the town or claim hereditary right to Ewelle chieftaincy stool.
Chief Amachree further informed the court that the selection of his client (King Sagbe) as the new Amanyanabo of Ido town was conducted and consented to, by the two families in exercise of its power, right and authority is authentic, final and irreversible.
The counsel pleaded that the court should restrain Chiefs Damiete and Prambo and their privies in the Egwere/Prabo families from asserting any power, right and authority in the selection of an Ewelle (King/Amanyanabo) of Ido town to the exclusion of the town or without the consent, approval agreement or participation of Ido town.  ###
