The residents of the ever busy Egede Street in the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital were shocked at the violent manner displayed by some prostitutes as they beat a man mercilessly on Monday.
The incident which occurred at a popular brothel known as Fabulous Bar at No. 28 Egede Street in Diobu which was a cool off spot and the home of commercial sex workers popularly known as “Ashawo”.
According to eye witness account the man who is a regular customer visited the brothel; had a good time with the one of the prostitutes (Ashawo) and after enjoying himself with the said lady he secretly carted away her laptop.
Shortly after the man left the prostitute discovered that her laptop was missing and she raised an alarm which attracted occupants of other rooms and passerby and they went after him and apprehended him. The prostitutes descended on him heavily with anger and torn his clothes and inflicted wounds on his body and dragged him back to the brothel.
Our source later revealed that the man was rescued by a middle aged man who claimed to be the manager of the popular joint and drove away with him. “I don’t know where the manager took him to but I think he was taken to the police station an eyewitness told our correspondent.”
