Politics is all about supremacy, power and conspiracy. The fight for power to control Abua/Odual politics has sharply divided the politicians in the LGA into two antagonizing fractions. One of the factions is headed by Mr. Ukel Oyagiri, the Commissioner in charge of the Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs, while the other opposing group is under the watchful eyes of Hon. Stanley Uwom, a lawmaker in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The two Abua/Odual born politicians are fighting for who is to control the soul of ABOLGA politics.
Of recent the commissioner and the state lawmaker are at daggers drawn in selections and subsequent nominations of new caretaker committee (CTC) members in the LGA.
Source hinted this weekly that, Mrs. Oyagiri is making clandestine moves to nominate a chairman of the new CTC in the LGA. While Hon. Uwon said that it is his turn to make the nomination as for who becomes the next CTC chairman of ABOLGA.
According to information reaching our political desk, the outgone CTC chairman, Chief Oye Egenewari was nominated by the commissioner, adding that is now the turn of the lawmaker to make his nomination.
Information revealed the commissioner is seriously opposing Hon. Uwom’s nomination. Tension mounts in the political terrain of the LGA as the commissioner and the state parliamentarian are fully set for political war. This weekly gathered that some party chiefs in the state have waded into the looming crisis in order to install political stability in the LGA.
Besides, the fight for who becomes the next chairman of the CTC in ABOLGA, the commissioner and the lawmaker are also struggling for the total control as the political leader of Abua/Odual LGA, since Hon. Dr. Henry Ogiri has pulled out of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. ###
