Wike Advocates SMEs As Solution

RIVERS STATE 1Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says Nigeria can get out of the present economic recession if adequate attention is accorded to Small and Medium-scale En-terprises SMEs in the Country.

Chief Wike who stated this at the 6th International Christian Business Exhibition and DX Conference organised by the Marketplace Apostles Empowerment Foundation in Port Harcourt, said there is an urgent need to re-direct the orientation of Youths and Nigerians in general from the pursuit of white collar jobs to entrepreneurial venture.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, the governor described the theme of the event: “Entrepreneurial Development for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria” as timely especially as it is coming at a time when Nigeria’s economy is in recession and has thrown more Nige-rians into the labour market in addition to the ever-rising profile of unemployment and inflation in the Country.
