Peace And Development

NamibiaPeace is an important criterion in the development of a society. Development is a process, and where peace is absence the development experiences crack that throws the entire society into backwardness and stagnancy.

The overall aim of any community is to grow geometrically and tremendously. But one thing that can retard growth is crisis of different dimensions, which can reduce a great nation to nought. It can take several years to build a mansion, but within a split of seconds it can utterly be destroyed beyond recognition.

Crisis cannot ignite development, but confusion, troubles, social problems amongst several others. Infact crisis is a social problem that had caused untold hardship in so many communities, rendering people homeless.

Economic and political stability can take the front seat on geographical terrain of any given nation when there is peace and harmony. Harmonous living gives rise to team work the right path to progressive living.

However, peace only exists when there is good governance. Most nations that facing one problem or other could be traced to bad leadership, greed and corruption. Bad leadership underdevelop a nation and ginger crisis. In Nigeria bad governance has brought untold hardship to the citizenry. There is an infrastructural delay, economic meltdown, power outrage and other associated problems.

Development becomes faster and speedy in the presence of peace, and orderliness.

Nigeria as a nation will continue to experience snail speed development until all the agitations in the various geographical zones in the country are being settled amicable. Nigeria is a land full of opportunities, human and material resources, but despite these the nation is still crawling, because of absence of good governance. Most persons occupying public offices are greedy, unpatriotic and lacking nationalistic zeal. Thus they are channeling funds meant for speedy development of the nation to their private bank accounts.

It is very painful to observe that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is not border about the suffering of the citizens. The economy is tough and naira is depreciating day by day. Citizens are dying of hungry. In the current situation no nation can find her way to the path of economic growth and development.

It is time for the Buhari’s administration to bring out policies that will enable the citizenry to smile and enjoy the dividends of the so-called APC’s change mantra. ###
