If information available at The Newswriter newsroom is anything to go by, then all seems not palatable in the Andoni LGA chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP under the chairmanship of Mr. Chimnedu Ogbologugo.
A Political Party is said to be formidable when all interests are put behind and party interest allowed to override all, then the success of such a party is considered to have all what it takes to stand the taste of time.
But the scenario in the Andoni LGA chapter of the PDP is said to be contrary to these principles of formidability of a Party as a splinter group emerged with the intention to do everything within its powers to halt the re-elections of the former speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikunyi-Owaji Ibani, the Federal House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Awaji-inombek Dagomie Abiante and of course that of the senatorial candidate which Andoni is part of, Sen. Johnson Alaka Nwogu.
It is gathered that while the PDP family in that local government is doing everything possible to ensure that reconciliation and harmony exists, the splinter group, The Newswriter learnt is compelled to either remain on their grounds or possibly join forces with the lean APC group to frustrate re-election of the lawmakers as they meet consistently.
Interestingly, The Newswriter political correspondent gathered that, irrespective of the loud noise anybody could make, joining the splinter group in the PDP together with the lean APC members in the local government cannot override the PDP by any means and ways the election might go.
Meanwhile, the PDP in the area is said to be working tenaciously to ensure that victory is their’s at the coming polls when it took her campaigns to the kitchens and parlours of the citizenry across the local government area.
However, reason for the unholy face-off and differences in the party according to our sources was premised on uprooting the political leader and of course the PDP leader in the area, who was the immediate past acting National chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus out of their ways.
On the sins of Uche Secondus, The Newswriter source explained that those whom the PDP leader Secondus had made to become wealthy or what they are, wanted to continue in political offices against other faithfuls and supporters which is obviously not in agreement with the views of the party, hence the fight.
Recalled that 99.9 percent of political beneficiaries in the LGA including those in APC today were made by the same Secondus, acknowledging that prior to the present era where other political parties raise heads, they have always been under a winning political platform in Andoni.
According to our source, the PDP is not perturbed with the activities of anti-party members who had benefited from the same platform they are fighting against, but this publication was further hinted that the antics of the splinter group within the PDP folk further escalates as one Elder Charles Awortu emerged the State Deputy Chairman of PDP, from the local government area.
The Newswriter equally gathered that not less than 3 loyalists of the supposed ring leader of the splinter group have defected to the All Progressives Congress during a burial ceremony in Ataba town, as others from the same group are expected to join their pathfinders and forerunners.
When The Newswriter contacted via the telephone to ascertain the sins of Rt. Hon. Ibani and why a group would not want him return to office to represent the good people of Andoni, the Special Adviser to the former speaker, Chief (Hon.) Allen Jonah Abbi (JP) declined comment rather referred this weekly to the party echelon. Meanwhile, efforts to reach the LGA Party Chairman for reactions met the brick walls. ###
