The youths of Bakana in the Degema Local Government Area under the auspices of Odum Royal Youths have frowned at the attitude of some indigenes of the area for their wicked and evil intention to cause crisis in the community.
Comrade Sosepiribo Ferguson who made this known at a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, pointed accusing finger at one Engr. Okiye Evans for devising evil plans to destabilize Bakana community. Comrade Ferguson revealed that Engr. Evans was the scribe to late Kegan Igbanibo that fought the Odum Royal House.
He wondered why they (Engr. Evans and his cohorts) are coming back to claim the Odum kingship stool that they have denied and ridiculed for several years.
The Odum Royal Youths described Engr. Evans and his supporters as prodigal sons, however noted clearly that the Amanyanabo of Bakana, HRH O.O.Odum VIII is ready to receive them if they repent from their “wicked sins and atrocities”.
Comrade Ferguson further recalled that one Barr. I. I. Evans, the immediate younger brother to Engr. Okiye Evans was the defence counsel to Late Kengan Braide that embarrassed themselves by supporting wrong ideas of fighting against the Odum stool.
The Odum Royal Youths President stated that, there is no kingship tussle in Bakana anymore, and thanked Governor Nyesom Wike for bringing to an end to the thirty-two (32) years kingship crisis in Bakana.
Comrade Ferguson had earlier maintained that the people of Bakana should be happy, because the community had produced the chairman of the Degema Council of Chiefs in the person of Odum VIII.
His words, “Whether the governor has done something for Bakana or not, today we can be proud of him. We have gotten a second (2nd) class traditional ruler and the Chairman of the Degema Council of Chiefs”.
He described the Odum VIII as a God fearing, pointing out that the (monarch) is ever ready to carry every Bakana man, woman or youth along in the scheme of things.
Comrade Ferguson expressed optimism that Odum VIII emergence as a king will usher in the needed development in the community and assured that in no distant time the security challenges in Bakana will soon be a thing of the past.
He had earlier felicitated with Odum VIII for his recognition and applauded Governor Wike and the judiciary for resolving all the kingship matters in Bakana community. ###
