16 Cultists Surrender For Peace in Andoni

Not less than sixteen cultists from the Andoni Local Government Area have resolved toe to the path of peace and allow the local government breathes the fresh air against the incessant disturbances, blood letting and intimidation that had greeted indigenes in the past few months.

The cultists last Friday before the Nigeria Police Force at the Divisional headquarters, Ngo town and the Bori Area Command made some documentations and signed into quit cultism, embrace the government peace offer and allow the peace reigns in the area.

Special Assistant to the Caretaker Chairman, Andoni LGA on security matters, Hon. Barr. Jacob Maclean Eneotu who led the ex-cultists to the police for documentation and formal renouncement expressed optimism with the steps taken by the ex-cultists that peace would be attained even beyond the present administration in the area.

Speaking to newsmen in Andoni, the Special Assistant to the chairman on Security Matters noted that Andoni LGA was practically a peaceful area before the emergence of the killer group, assuring that with the acceptance of peace offer, Andoni is back on track again while advising the ex-cultists to remain peaceful and committed to the oath of peace they have taken, acknowledging that there is no place like one’s father’s land.

It would be recalled that the first batch of ex-cultists threw in their towel in the month of June courtesy of the CTC chairman, Engr. Ofiks Kagbang premised on the state government stance against cultism and criminality in Rivers State.

On their part, the ex-cultists who pleaded for forgiveness and re-integration into the society, called on the indigenes to return home without fear of apprehension pledging that peace is a necessity that must prevail in the land which they have signed to uphold.  ###
