The City of Ohanku-Ndoki in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State on Thursday July, 14th 2016, witnessed a scenario reminiscent to that of the triumphant entry of Our Lord Jesus Christ as the President and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Apostle (Dr.) Chibuzor Gift Chinyere stormed the community. It was an event to officially hand over keys of a building constructed by the church for widow, Madam Gladys Nnana.
The beneficiary, Madam Gladys Nnana, who hails from Uhudoko Community of Ohanku lost her husband ten years ago without a child. A situation that attracted sympathy from well wishers over the years.
According to Madam Nnana, “My Husband died ten years ago leaving behind a dilapidated mud house for me as the only inheritance, the building collapsed many years ago and since then I have been squatting from one sympathizers, house to the other in the village, life has not only been unbearable but miserable to me, especially leaving a life without a child. One day the Apostle of OPM Church who is neither my relation nor was I a member of his ministries met me and had compassion on me, and directed one Engineer to commenced the construction of a building for me. As you can see, today I am a house owner just like that”, Gladys Nnana explained.
While handing over the keys of the building to the beneficiary in the presence of the paramount ruler of the area, HRH, Eze Joshua O. Dagbor, Apostle Chinyere noted that what God has in stock through him to the people is yet to be fully utilized in spite of the little the people are seeing.
The man of God, while encouraging widows in the area used the occasion to further promised them of providing in batches adequate comfort and financial assistance to cushioning the effect of poverty and agony they are experiencing without husbands.
Reacting, Mr. Benjamin Amaechi representative of the head of the beneficiary’s family while in a chat with the newsmen said, he could not believed his eyes that a pastor and a church that is desperately looking for money to make for themselves could do such things to somebody not related to him.
He thanked the OPM family and her General Overseer for allowing himself to be used by God to turn the sadness and sorrow of a poor widow to joy.
Also speaking, the youth leader of the area, Mr. Sunday Ekeke said, the gesture was like a dream as he could not believed that Madam Nnana who has been moving from one house to the other for shelter especially during raining season could own a block house.
He therefore enjoined the wealthy men and influential politicians in the area to urgently emulate the Apostle’s footsteps so as to make the area a better place for the people.
Widows from the area who turned out in their numbers to welcome the General Overseer and his entourage were full of praises to God for having a leader like Apostle Chniyere, who according to them, do not only identified with the yearning of the people but has in several ways provided succour to the widows. They prayed God’s continuous blessings and strength to enable the man of God and his members fulfill their mandates on earth. ###
