Ogoni RSUST Students Lifts Eze Wali Peace Soccer Trophy

The Ogoni students soccer team Rivers State University of Science and Technology has lifted the Eze Ejike Princewill Wali peace soccer cup for students of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, RSUST, played at the institution football pitch.

The competition was sponsored by the paramount ruler of Mgbusilaru community, Eze Ejike Princewill Wali, Eze Oha Okporo/Nye-Nweli of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State to promote peace and unity amongst students of Rivers State university of Science and Technology.

In the final match, Ogoni students soccer team defeated their Ikwerre students counterpart team and went home with the cash prize of N200,000 (two hundred thousand naira) while Ikwerre students soccer team went home with a cash prize of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira).

Speaking at the finals presentation of cash prize and trophies to the victorious teams, Eze Wali said, Ikwerre students’ soccer team too is a champion for playing in the finals of the competition, and encouraged them to put more effort to emerging the winner next edition as he promised sustaining the competition to promote peace and unity among the students in Rivers State University of Science and technology.

He further urged the students to study hard while maintaining peace throughout their stay in the university as students.

Eze Wali is an embodiment of peace and had always promoted peace and unity in his domain. Infact, the second name of Eze Wali is peace itself as this is evident in his palace with many peace awards, shield and plaques, demonstrating collections of honour and award presented to him by various distinguished organizations, groups and corporate organizations alike, across the Niger Delta.

Just last month, National Union of Rivers State students (NURSS) RSUST chapter, youth Federation for world peace, Niger Delta youth forum presented an award of peace differently the same day at the Nigeria Union of Journalist Ernest Ikoli Press centre, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt to him. ###
