If the current sanitary situation is not tackled, the residents of Iyo-Polo in Marine Base community in the Port Harcourt Local Government Area, may likely contact strange diseases that will adversely affect their health. Our correspondent who visited the area reports that there is poor drainage system and the residents, are littering the area with human faeces.
It was also gathered that there is no good toilet system, alleging that the Plank Shade toilet is the major contributor to this ugly situation. The entire environment of the Iyo-Polo (Phalga ward 6) is being enveloped in offensive odour, thus the area is now unfit for human habitation.
Residents who spoke to our correspondent called on the relevant authorities to come to their aid by initiating measures that will tackle the poor sanitary condition of the place. ###
