Kingship Dispute: Nkoro May Soon Coronate New Monarch

SENIBO ODEYHThe people of Nkoro in Opobo/Nkoro LGA of Rivers State rolled out their drums as news of the victory of Senibo Paschal Odeyh, Amanyanabo designate of Nkoro at the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt filtered in.

The Appeal Court judge, Hon. Justice Sambah dismissed the matter on ground that the losers lacked merit and also posited that their issues lacked facts.

Earlier, Paschal Odeyh won at the lower court in Bori and Port Harcourt respectively as the High Court held strong and frank views in delivering judgment. On the 13th day of November, 2013, Senibo Paschal Odeyh Amakiri Theophilus and Hon. Peter Amah on behalf of King Kpokpo war canoe House of Nkoro had in the High Court of Rivers State, Port Harcourt Judicial Division won a ruling against Senibo Nathaniel Sam, Kingsley Kiboro Amoneah, Senibo Peter Wilson, Calvin Irite Allagoa, Stephen Thompson, Isaiah Tamuno, Ishmael Jikiri Igbani and Pius Edward Anikuroka who paraded themselves as defendants in Suit No. BHC/82/2010 before Justice A. I Iyayi-Lamikanra.

In the Lower court, the judgment made the following orders, saying it declared Senibo Paschal Odeyh, having been selected and presented to King Kpokpo section at the ancestral Otuogba shrine by the King Kpokpo war canoe House on 27th October, 2007 as the rightful person to be recognized and installed as the Amanyanabo of Nkoro Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the people of Nkoro are celebrating the outcome of the victory at the Appeal Court, noting that the winner is a tested and trusted figure who will transform and position Nkoro into the scheme of things.

Barristers Unyeawaji Robert and her senior colleague, Esther Mabadeje said they were overwhelmed and impressed by the ruling, pointing out that justice has prevailed over unrighteous rule.

Both of them commended the ruling, adding that they were thrilled at the outstanding judgment.

Chief Elect O. A Fred Ngere, Head of Ngere War Canoe House Nkoro was full of enthusiasm, saying that every Nkoro indigene should key in, in moving Nkoro forward. He pointed out that some persons in Nkoro wanted to thwart the customs and tradition of the Nkoro community but justice has prevailed at last.

The Chief Protocol Officer of the Amanyanabo designate stressed that the victory is dedicated to God Almighty and called on all Nkoro people to join hands in piloting the affairs of the community to a greater height.

Earlier, the Amayanabo designate and the new monarch stated that he was impressed with the decision of the appellate court and enjoined all Nkoro indigenes to come all out to ensure that the community regains its pride of place in the comity of states.

He also welcomed the losers to join hands in moving the community forward, stressing that his doors are open for constructions and fruitful advices from all and sundry for the development of Nkoro kingdom.  ###
