One of the basic functions of government even in a primitive society is to protect lives and properties of the citizenry. When government fails to secure the lives of its people, that society systemically moves into the state of anarchy and lawlessness.
In the contemporary Nigerian society killing of human beings has been institutionalized. Now killing like culture has been a normal way of life. Everyday Nigerians witnessed one kind of killing or the order. Since our political autonomy in October 1, 1969 the country is passing through rough times, especially in the past six (6) years, Nigeria experience darkest period in her political history.
During the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Boko Haram, a dreaded Islamic Fundamentalists sect heavily terrorize the northern part of the country, killing and maiming innocent citizens, churches and other public institutions were utterly destroyed. Nobody knows their reasons of these bardastically acts. But one fact remains the actions of Boko Haram point towards the Islamilization of the Nigerian society.
Of recent another dangerous group known as “Fulani Herdsmen” has resurfaced to execute the secret agenda of systematic implementation of the islamilization of the “geographical expression” called Nigeria. In the past few months the Fulani herdsmen have attacked series of communities, causing panic, death and untold hardship.
Barely a week ago the Fulani herdsmen descended on a community in Enugu State, and before they were through with the heinous acts, no fewer than forty (40) persons were sent to their early graves.
In that same attack, scores of people wounded and properties estimated at millions of naira went down the drain. Nobody knew the mission of these nomadic herdsmen. The attitude they have exhibited so far show that the herdsmen like the devil have three (3) hidden agenda, “to kill, to destroy and to steal”.
The Fulani herdsmen may be the offsprings of the Boko Haram sect to begin their Jihad from the southern Nigeria, a strategic plot to introduce the Islamic religion in the country. ###
