The former chairman of Asari-Toru local government area, Mr. Ojukaye Flag Amachree has been arrested by the Nigeria police.
Mr. Flag Amachree was arrested on Tuesday’s night at about 8.00pm.
The details of his arrest is unknown at the time of filing in this report.
However, in the past few months the ex-council boss had a lot of problems ranging from inciting violence in Buguma rigging of elections to security challenges.
Mr. Flag Amachree is a chieftain of the All progressives Congress in the LGA.
Meanwhile information had it that the ex-Chairman was arraigned on Wednesday at the Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt. The court yard was besieged by Flag-Amachree’s loyalists, political associates and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The embattled ex-council boss was charged with several punishable offences.
Shortly after his appearance before the Court, he was ordered to be remanded in the prison custody.###
