The leadership of the People Democratic Party, PDP has raised alarm over an alleged plan by President Muhammadu Buhari to declare state of emergency in Rivers State following the violence which had marred the last Saturday’s re-run election.
On Sunday, the President has summoned some leaders of the National Assembly as well as other legislators on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC to brainstorm on the Rivers killings. Last week Buhari at Equatorial Guinea ordered security agents to deal decisively with the sponsors and perpetrators of the electoral violence in the State.
The president condemned the recent political killings in Rivers State and also said killing of people over political differences was primitive, barbaric an unacceptable. ###
