Re-run Polls: Radio Rivers Reporters Manhandled At Tai LGA

A reporter from the Radio Rivers, Martin Giadom was manhandled by suspected’ political thugs at Bunu junction in Tai LGA, while on official assignment of monitoring the last Saturday’s re-run polls in the state.
The Radio Rivers reporter was harassed alongside with other reporters namely: Barididum Lema of Rhythm 93.7 FM, and Sotonye Jaimaca of Garden City FM. They were tortured by armed political thugs and his (Martins Giadom) vehicle was vandalized, later burnt to ashes.
The journalists escaped by the help of some good Samaritans.
According to the Radio Rivers reporters his mobile cell phone, laptop, voice recorder and other valuables were stolen.
He called on the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Rivers Council under the leadership of Ayo Tamuno to come to his aid. Giadom further appealed to security agents to investigate and bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to book. ###
