The founder of the Niger Delta Volunteer Peoples Force (NDVPF), Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo is currently seeking an audience to meet with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari over the continued agitation for the actualization of Biafra Republic, an impeccable source informed this weekly. Information had it that if all things being equal, Asari Dokubo will meet with the president before the end of this month. The Kalabari born warlord has been an ardent supporter of the struggle for realization of the Biafra Republic.
Last week, the leader of the NDVPF, called on President Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu and restore Biafra.
He described the continued incarceration of Kanu as illegal and unconstitutional, adding that Kanu did nothing wrong in demanding for self determination for Biafra. Asari said that it is time for everyone to come together to ensure that Kanu regains his liberty.
According to the ex-militant leader “Kanu did not commit any crime or offence, he should be freed. Biafrans have to put away their differences and make sure that he comes out”.
He extolled the leadership qualities of Kanu, saying that he (Kanu) had done tremendously well and has shown resoluteness in Biafra struggle.
Asari threatened that if Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB continues to be in detention Nigeria will not experience peace and orderliness.
“I urge every Biafran to be strong and also call for release of our brother, Kanu”, Asari asserted, pointing out that “Biafra struggle is for everyone and no one can do it all alone, thus everyone should do away with differences and come together to make sure Kanu is freed and Biafra is restored.
Asari in several fora maintained that there is no difference between the vision of the Nigeria Delta People Volunteer Force and Movement For the Actualization of Biafra Republic MASSOB because both are demanding for self-determination. He said that actualization of Biafra Republic is a task that must be done and no one can truncate the struggle. ###
