Andoni Constituency: Ex-Rivers Speaker Rejected…Drums Support For Labour Party

As the race for the March 19, 2016 State and Federal House of Assembly Election closes by, a socio-political organization, ‘Restoration 2016’ has solicited for votes from electorate in Andoni Constituency to enhance the victory of Chief (Barr.) Nte Rawlings Ete of the Labour Party in the House of Assembly election.
In a chat with this weekly, the leader of the group, Humphrey Owajiokibek Godspower disclosed that Chief Ete will definitely restore the values of Obolo people and bring about the much needed unity in the land, saying that the Labour Party candidate is a symbol of hope to the untold hardship orchestrated by past representatives who went to the hallowed chambers to admire the architectural beauty of the House, rather than institute necessary laws that will have impact on Obolo people.
He called on Obolo people to vote massively for Chief Ete for able representation, adding that his love for aquatic and fishing activities will be brought to bear in the scheme of things.
The eloquent leader of the group also noted that the Labour Party candidate is a well known tourist guru who single handedly used his resources to build tourist centres in Andoni, pointing out that the tourism potentials ‘which is abound in Andoni will be recorded in world map if Chief Ete emerges as the winner in the re-run election.
“Chief Ete is a philanthropist par excellence and a team player who has severally organized football competitions across Andoni with the aim of raising young talents to represent the state and the nation in international Sports competition,” Godspower maintained.
He stressed that with the Labour Party candidate’s emergence, a new dawn will be established which will usher in development and place Andoni as one of the most vibrant Local Government Areas in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.
On the chances of dislodging the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), considered as great parties, the Restoration 2016 spokesperson dismissed their popularity, saying that victory belongs to God. He said he is hopeful that the Labour Party candidate, Chief (Barr.) Nte Rawlings Ete will beat all contestants to emerge, come March 19, 2016.
“Restoration 2016 has reached out to stakeholders and the entire Andoni people On this project and the response is overwhelming. Chief Ete’s antecedent is second to none and we are confident of victory. When the people of Andoni have spoken, God has spoken,” he stressed.
An octogenarian who would not want his name in print described ‘Restoration 2016’ team as one made up of experienced and matured minds, adding that their political approach is excellent. He charged them to continue in their project of supporting a man of character with penchant for total transformation of Obolo nation. He prayed for the victory of Chief (Barr.) Nte Rawlings Ete at the polls.
The second republic politician further noted that the PDP and APC Assembly candidates are no match to the Labour Party candidate in terms of Love and concern to Obolo people, pointing out that Chief Ete has in the past and present empowered many Obolo youths and positioned Andoni through tourism.
Meanwhile, the enthusiasm that greeted the emergence of Chief (Barr.) Nte Rawlings Ete on the platform of the Labour Party across Andoni is overwhelming. Most of the people expressed happiness and pledged their support for Chief Ete. They also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to create an enabling environment and level playing ground devoid of rigging and other forms of malpractices, saying that victory for Chief (Barr.) Nte Rawlings Ete is secured, come March 19, 2016.
The people rejected the former speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibani Ikuinyi as the House of Assembly candidate on the PDP platform. They described him as a non-perform. The people also kicked against the candidature of Dressman of all Progressive Congress, APC, saying that he has nothing to offer.
According to his aide, Mr. Jonah Abbi (JP) said his boss was not rejected by the people.###
