The people of Andoni local government area have given reasons the electorate must queue behind the candidatures of Honourable Awaji-inombek Dagomie Abiante for the Federal House of Representatives and former Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikunyi-Owaji Ibani for the Rivers State House of Assembly re-run in the march 19th, 2016 legislative re-run as ordered by the Court of Appeal.
A socio-cum political pressure group, Obolo Democrats Assembly, (ODA) after their monthly general congress held at GRA phase II enjoins all electorate in the Andoni State and federal constituencies to cast their votes for candidates of the PDP from the area having highlighted some reasons why the Rt. Honourable Ikunyi-Owaji Ibani and Hon. Abiante Dagomie should be allowed to continue in their legislative business.
Speaking to The Newswriter political correspondent, the Public Relation Officer of ODA, comrade Athenasius Aworugwen revealed that on assumption of office, Hon. Abiante Awaji-inombek had proved to the Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro federal constituency his leadership capability to pilot the affairs of the people when he first corrected the abnormally created by his predecessor, Hon. Dakuku Peterside on the name of the constituency.
The constituency’s name according to Aworugwen as obtainable in every federal constituency is Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro federal constituency but regretted that Dakuku Peterside, the APC gubernatorial candidate in the April 11 general election had negatively influenced it to bear it reversed, a situation he noted does not go down well with real sons and daughters of Andoni and Opobo Ethnic Nationality.
Thanking the federal lawmaker, the ODA, in her February general congress appeals to the people to queue behind Abiante to continue in his good works by coming out massively on March 19th to re-elect him for the attainment of development in Obolo land and the constituency.
According to the spokes persons of the ODA, Abiante had given the constituency the needed recognition it deserves at the federal level when he sponsored several motions that went through on the floor of the house, before his organized sack by the lower courts.
The eloquent mouthpiece of ODA further maintained that in the history of elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, the immediate past speaker, Rt. Hon. Ikunyi-Owaji Ibani had given the Obolo nation a path on the back for not just representation but better representation.
He highlighted some projects embarked upon by the Ibani era in the first and second tenure in the Assembly to include amongst others, construction of roads network in Ukwa and Inyonoron towns respectively, six classroom blocks in Ataba Community, procurement of over 350 sewing machines for the women and over 350 motorcycles for the youths to ameliorate the living status of the people.
The ODA, PRO posited that, the Ibani era in the Assembly had outweighed others who represented the constituency before him because of his laudable achievements maintaining that his (Ibani) tenure has expose the others who of cheating on the constituents, hence should be given another chance to work for the people.
The Obolo Democratic Assembly spokes man, however, stated that the organization in the months ahead will have her elections as the term of the current executives expires soon.
Meanwhile, the president of ODA Comrade James, Mgboineme had earlier, disclose to The Newswriter of the advocacy visit of ODA to communities in the Andoni LGA on the need for peaceful re-run election in the LGA, and enjoin all youths to participate actively. ###
