The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Eleme Local Government, Hon. Johnson Worgu has said that his LGA is proposing to hold a sports competition in partnership with the multi-national companies doing business in Eleme LGA, so as to discover or harvest the abundant hidden sporting talents of the LGA.
Speaking to The Newswriter sports, Hon. Worgu revealed that seeing the talents exhibited by his wards in the just concluded Go-Round/Swan secondary school athletics championship 2016, he has no doubt that the sporting talents in Eleme local government needs to be discovered and harvested.
Stressing that, the only way to doing or achieving that aim is to partner with the multi-national corporations doing business in the local government.
Eleme Local government was the last to appear for the just concluded Go-Round/Swan secondary schools athletics championship 2016 at the very day of commencement of events hence they missed the match past.
According to Hon. Worgu, he got to know of the championship that very day hence he has to kit his wards for the championship that same day.
However, Eleme did not disappoint the chairman and her people as the contingent secured some medals, much more better than LGAs like Asalga, Etche and others.
The impromptu manner in which Eleme LGA came into the Go-Round/SWAN secondary schools athletics championship shows that there are many more hidden sporting talents in the LGA to be discovered.
Eleme has good fields, this indicates that if the LGA is combed many more hidden sporting talents will be discovered.
In the meantime, Eleme has lots of football talents, the LGA has played in the finals of state FA cup, challenge cup, Super cup and has a good record to show for it.
Eleme is not a push over when it comes to football and sports in general. ###
