“Join Me Let Us Develop Bakana”, Monarch Tells Opponents

The Amanyanabo of Bakana Community in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH King O. O. Odum VIII has extended hands of fellowship to opponents or critics to join him to develop the community for the interest of all.
Speaking to newsmen in his palace in Bakana on Tuesday, the monarch said he has no problem with anyone, adding that the time to develop Bakana is now. He pointed out that Bakana as a community is greater than everyone, advising his critics to sink their differences, step forward, sheathe their swords and join him to place Bakana on the path of transformation.
He said there is no litigation in any law court bordering on the kingship tussle, stating that Bakana is peaceful. The Bakana Monarch maintained that in the past, his opponents were adamant to join hands with him to develop the town, because of their closeness with the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi.
According to him, now that justice has returned to Rivers State through the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, “that same justice has prevailed in Bakana Community”.
He felicitated with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his electoral victory in the Supreme Court.
He described the judgement as divine, stating that Chief Wike is God sent to salvage the people of Rivers State from poverty.
According to the monarch, Wike’s victory is a victory for all and enjoined all the people of Bakana to give the Governor the necessary support to succeed.
“This is the time to support the governor to succeed. And let me use this period to also call every body to support me, that we can make the community grow. There is no point fighting, we are one and Bakana must move forward. We must be one,” the monarch said.
Odum VIII had earlier expressed concern on incessant security threats in the area and pleaded with the governor and relevant security agencies to ensure adequate security of lives and property in Bakana town.
