Go-Round/SWAN Championship: Asalga Hope Of Medals Doubtful

As the Go-Round/Swan secondary schools athletics championship commence proper on Tuesday 2nd, February, 2016 the hope of Asari Toru Local Government Council grabbing medals is doubtful as the Wifa Barisi chairman accreditation and documentation subcommittee did its wonderful best in screening only those that are qualified under the stipulated age of 17 in Asalga to be part of the championship.
The stipulated number of athletes are supposed to be 10 boys, 10 girls and 4 officials from each of the participating LGAs.
After thorough screening carried out by wifa and his committee, Asalga was left with only 2 boys and 6 girls, out of the 10 boys and 10 girls respectively.
Not sure of themselves, the Asalga contingent lacks the courage even to forward themselves for screen at the first instance as they were coming forward and going backward from the gate of the screening at Uniport sports complex.
Their fear was confirmed as at the end of the screening, only 2 boys out of the 10 boys were screened in as qualified to represent the LGA. Same as only 6 girls were screened in to participate in the championship out of the 10 girls earlier presented for screening.
This may affect other LGAs who did not take time to select their athletes.
Worst hit LGA was Etche LGA which had only 3boys and 3 girls on the whole to represent Etche LGA, after final screening.
As of 1st of February LGAs that were badly affected by the screening exercise have started filing in their protest at the screening ground immediately, after the screening committee had screened their athletes out.
Nine (9) events are expected to be competed for the 3 days championship. ###
