Bakana Community, PDP Organises Victory Rally

flowing pic bakanaNo fewer than one thousand (1000) members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP across the length and breadth of the Degema Local Government Area on Saturday, 30th January, 2016 converged at Bakana Community to celebrate the victory of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in the Supreme Court.
A lot of party chiefs were also in attendance including Dr. Hon. Farah Dagogo, a candidate of PDP for Degema Constituency I in the upcoming re-run election, Mr. Ipalibo Sogules, Chairman RIMA, Hon. Pleasant Braide, Dr. Hon. Tony Philmoore, Hon. Engr. Ombo Benibo, Chief Tonye Tyger, the Chairman Caretaker Committee Degema Local Government Area and several others.
The victory rally started with procession with party faithful and loyalists singing victory songs, dancing and jubilating round the community.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Hon. Farah Dagogo, the PDP candidate for the State House of Assembly thanked the party members for standing behind Governor Wike during the litigations in the tribunal. He assured that with the Supreme Court verdict Wike will positively touch the lives of the Rivers people.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Central Working Committee, Dr. Hon. Tony Philmoore maintained that PDP will continue to dominate in the Bakana Community.
In his remark, Hon. Damiete Albert Miller, a Commissioner in charge of Ministry of Social Welfare told the people that, Gov.Wike will initiate programmes that will uplift standard of the living of the masses.
Also speaking the Acting Chairman of PDP in the LGA, Tamunokuro Iyalla applauded the party faithful for their support and peaceful disposition during the pendency of election petitions.
While receiving the decampees, Hon. Pleasant Braide assured them of justice, fairplay and equal opportunity. He lauded Governor Wike for giving appointments to sons and daughters of Bakana Community. He also told the people that in no distant time, Bakana will be connected to Port Harcourt through the Trans-Kalabari link road.
