Miss Umanah Gabriel Bags MFM South-South Region I Award

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries South-South Region 1, Port Harcourt has put smiles on the faces of students and parents recently.
The occasion was the 2016 award presentation to the winners of the Senior Regional Overseer (SRO), Pastor Dr. Lawrence Olasehinde Youth Development Foundation in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
The event featured junior and senior students of the region competition in various subjects.
There were singing, dancing, thanksgiving and prayers to God Almighty during the presentation that brought together the church members and some members of the public.
The board chairman, retired permanent secretary Dr. Etim Amba said the foundation was set up in Abuja to remember what God did through the SRO Dr. Olasehinde while in the nation’s capital, especially his efforts at planting churches in the North Central of the country and even outside the country together with his good works concerning children.
He thanked the SRO for allowing them to use his name for the foundation, the Abuja based foundation chairman / founders said following the analysis of the examiners, and parents need to wake up, be serious and encourage their children to take their studies serious in order to become better citizen of tomorrow.
In his speech, Dr. Amba commended Prof. Jasper Jumbo who he brought into the foundation of the South-South region 1, he thanked him for his efforts, and not allowing the board to fail in Port Harcourt, he lauded the efforts of Pastor Adeyemo, the team leader in the region for doing a great job that made this day a success, not forgetting the church youth coordinator of the region, Pastor Chinedu Udechukwu for a job well done.
Dr. Amba advocated for wider and greater participation in order to increase the numbers of winners, as one of the keys to success is one being able to communicate as well as write down something good, it’s a project that will affect the children positively and carry them into the future.
Mrs. Anucha the regional coordinator of the program, said the programme is for the students of the South-South region I, as its target is to get the children prepared for good living and God’s agenda for their lives, the examination she said was conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) members outside the church.
Mrs. Anucha called on parents to brace up to see that their children excel in their education. She noted that social media is very good, that children under certain age should be speared of such gargets those in SSS needs good text books to read, if possible parents should enroll them in extra moral lessons, encourage them to develop good reading habits culture.
Parents should endeavor to know who are their children’s friends; TV should be placed in the central parlor and not in their room as it’s not helping them.
Speaking during the ceremony the Senior Regional Overseer Pastor Dr. Lawrence Olasehinde thanked Dr. Amba, the South- South region I, board and all the men/women God put together for the vision, he lauded the efforts of Pastor Adeyemo and his team. The SRO was not impressed on the children’s performance, he suggested ways the vision can use to help and improve the children in future endeavor, but was very pleased with the committees proposal in ways and methods to help the children. He thanked the winners and all the participants for their efforts, so far also prayed for the sustenance of the board.
Dr. Mrs. Christy Atako while presenting the award to the winners described the program as a destiny enhancing project, she appealed to the board to try and sensitize parents on ways and methods of helping the children in subsequent examinations.
The team leader of the foundation in the South-South region I, Pastor Adeyemo lauded the efforts of Dr. Etim Amba for his vision and sustenance; he thanked Prof. Jasper Jumbo, Dr. Christy Atako and other board members that worked tirelessly for the success.
They had brand prizes for first, second, and third winners, but this year they recorded four winners as a result of third the junior category went home with a cheque of twenty five thousand naira, while the senior category went home with a cash prize of #25,000 naira with a laptop.
Miss. Umumiah Gabriel Light of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries of South-South region II, Borikiri zonal headquarters came first while Owolabi and Owunda came second and third from other region respectively. ###
