Operation Empowerment 2016: Christians Charged On Sustaining God’s Glory

Succor has come the ways of the teaming audience of the 17 days Spiritual exercise christened “Operation Empowerment 2016 with the theme “Glory to Glory” organized by the St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Marine Base, Port Harcourt, when Christians were admonished to hold on to the genuine worship of God as they are His heritage that could not be taken away and strive to sustain the glory of God on their lives.
Speaking on the theme, “from Glory to Glory”, taking from Gen. 31:1 and II Corinthians 3:17,18, the Rev. Canon John Ubulom enjoin Christians to brace up to the challenges of defending, sustaining the glory so obtained during the 17 days Spiritual encounter, emphasizing that the glory of God unlike heritage could depart from an individual without proper and jealous efforts to sustaining it.
The Rev. Canon John, recalled that as creatures in God’s image, Man can do all things through the glory of God which distinguishes man at every circumstance, pointing out that when the glory was upon Moses, the Israelites were unable to behold his face.
While laying emphases on the signs and presence of God’s glory on Man to include boldness to resist temptations, not been ashamed of the gospel, shinning in every areas, identification and confession by others and rising above difficulties, the preacher equally identified walking in hatred, greed, arrogance, illicit sexuality-homosexuality, lesbianism, occultism, lack of spiritual consciousness and involvement in other sinful acts as factors that swallows and hampers the presence of God’s glory on human, insisting that Man or Christians must avoid being like Hophni and Phinehas but to emulate the qualities and glory filled life of Joseph who according to him resisted the temptation of committing adultery with Portipha’s wife irrespective of circumstances.
Similarly, in his message Evangelist Abinye Lennox has said that the possession of God’s glory drives away all sorts of evil and sicknesses, giving that every body and not only pastors are carriers of the glory of God.
Taking his text from II Corinthians 3:18, Evangelist Lennox posited that before the possession of the glory there must be a “beholding” , genuine desire for it saying that with the presence of the glory of God, Man does not labour for everything.
In his submission on the topic “My time has come” taking from the book of Esther chapter 2:15-17, Evangelist Fabian Nnah admonished the large congregation that all things on earth are tied to time, revealing that when God’s time is fulfilled in a man’s life, his turn has come.
While assuring the crowd of God’s capability in every situation that seems humanly impossible, Evangelist Fabian who encouraged participants to look up to God reveals that the moment a man encounters grace and glory of God, no one could compete with him, and urge the people to understand the principles of spirituality like Esther in chapter 4:16.
Explaining the importance of operation empowerment programme of the church, the priest in charge of the St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Marine Base, Rev. Chimezie Ofomah posited that the programme is a directive of God to launch people into their desired position, where God would use, impact and affect them in their early activities of every year.
On whether the participants from across the state have been empowered since the initiation of the programme, the priest who was elated maintained that there are testimonies that speaks for the programme as many got their miracle jobs, admission, financial breakforth, healing and cure amongst others.
The Priest who expresses optimism of God’s position to do what He (God) says he would do as the church has obeyed the command to do what He wants them to do, also told The Newswriter Religious correspondent that the impact of the Operation Empowerment are enormous on not only the church but to non-members who are co-sponsors of the programme because of their testimonies even as the crowd grows continually every year of the programme.
The Revd. Ofomah use the occasion of the thanksgiving service to call on citizens and residents of Rivers State and the Church to depend on God alone for His Glory to shine in every area, revealing that in 2016 all that would not glorify God would not work, prophesying in accordance with Isaiah chapter 60 that when the Glory of God shines on the State, Church and individual, then nations would run to the Church.
