All is not well with the Buguma Councl of Chiefs, our investigations revealed.
The on-going struggle for the supremacy of political power has a devastated effect on the unity of the Buguma Chiefs. We reliably gathered that, there was quarrel among the chiefs last weekend, when the leadership of the Buguma Chiefs’ Council stopped the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from organizing its thanksgiving service at the King Amachree square, Buguma. The ugly attitude of the leadership of the Buguma Chiefs Council has made; APC shifted the venue of her thanksgiving service to Chief Horsfall square, which attracted hundreds of party faithful.
Sources informed this weekly that leadership of the Chiefs Council is working with the chairman of the Caretaker Committee, CTC, Sobomabo Jackrich, thus they don’t want to see the progress of the APC in Buguma.
The source said that the attitude the PDP Chiefs are exhibiting in the Chiefs Council will in no distant time set the Buguma Community ablaze.
According to one notable Chief from the Karibo group of Houses noted that the Buguma Chiefs Council is highly politicized and fractionalized. “The Chiefs Council is now partisan. It is divided along party lines. We have two groups of chiefs in the Buguma Council of Chiefs, namely the APC chiefs and PDP chiefs”, the chief told our correspondent.
He maintained that the Chiefs Council is dominated by the PDP Chiefs who fail to address the crisis rocking the Buguma community, “because they are selfish gain and aggrandizement”.
The chief said that the Buguma community has been militarized and violence and cultism have taken their roots, but the leadership of the Buguma Chiefs Council refuses to recognize this, adding that the community is sitting on the keg of gun powder.
“If not why should they (Buguma Chiefs’ Council) opposed when the security agents came and fished out the bad boys in Buguma? the chief asked rheritorically. He lampooned the Chiefs Council for being partial and do not take the interest of the Buguma community at heart. ###
